Just another Grenora site

Meet Mrs. Melgaard

I  want to take a moment to introduce myself. I am the Title I Teacher at Grenora Public School! I love teaching, learning, and working with children. My students know I also love to read and I encourage them to be great readers by reading everyday!

The Northwestern corner of the state has been my home for most of my life. I grew up on a family farm near Fortuna. I moved to Moorhead, MN, where I attended college and earned my degree in Elementary Education from Moorhead State University. After getting married, I moved to northern Minnesota for about six years and then returned to North Dakota to teach and raise our family. I was a substitute teacher for a few years before taking a position teaching a 3rd and 4th grade combination class in Goodrich, ND. While teaching there for four years, I obtained my Title I Reading and Math Credentials. Not too long after this, my husband and I decided we wanted to be closer to our families, so I accepted a position in Grenora. While here, I have taught Title I, Library Media, 6th grade, and 3rd Grade.  I love living in the Grenora community and I am looking forward to another exciting year.

Besides teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening, quilting.
